Cremation
Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery’s new state-of-the-art crematorium includes a Viewing Room, a private space where loved ones can gather and experience closure as the cremation process is initiated.
Cremated remains can be brought home, inurned in our mausoleum, or interred in a family plot. A Scattering Garden provides families with an appropriate location for a loved one’s ashes, and the name of a loved one can be inscribed on our cenotaph.
Arrangements must be made through a licensed funeral professional who can explain the process and procedures. Cremations are scheduled through the cemetery office by Wiltwyck Rural Cemetery’s professional staff. We are licensed by the State of New York to perform cremations, and to insure that the remains of the deceased are handled in a dignified and caring manner throughout the process. The cremains are returned to the funeral professional to be returned to the families for final disposition.
